The Children’s Ministry encourages young people to get to know God, through various activities, events and learning styles. These are based on the characteristics of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and The Fruit of The Spirit’, in a generation where gifts, talents and abilities are elevated, very often at the expense of a good character.
Lessons are taught about Bible Heroes, e.g. Samuel, Moses, David, Joseph etc, drawing on the fact that these characters were once children and young people like themselves who God used to accomplish great things, and so can they, in his will.
We also focus on current affairs which helps to aid and support understanding of Christianity. Lessons are taught using Visual Aids, through fun and games, Videos, Q&A, role plays, Art and Crafts.
Meets monthly every 4th Friday 7:30-9pm. Ages 4-ll. Friday night is a time for fun and games, beginning with devotion. As one of the key things is prayer, everyone is encouraged to pray. This is usually followed with:
- Warm up games
- Bible text/lesson
- Story corner
- Quiz time-from the story
The children are often engaged in the session as they are encouraged and challenged to ask questions and they often find the bible events fascinating and sometimes even far-fetched. They work in teams to gain points throughout the session.
The choir ministry is very active and an inspiration to the children, under the leadership of Norma Blake and Jackie Williams. This is supported by parents encouraging their children to take part in the National, District, local and by special invitation event.
Vocational Bible School/Summer Activities:
This is an annual event where children learn the bible facts through play, storytelling etc., meet new friends and build relationships
